Pumpkin-Bran Flake Cake

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups pumpkin (1 16 oz. can)
  • 1 cup salad oil (any light tasting oil)
  • 1 1/2 cups bran flakes
  • 6 oz chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine the dry ingredients. Beat eggs into sugar. Add oil gradually to egg mixture while beating. Mix together with flour until moist. Add chips and pecans. Spoon into cake pan. Bake for 1 hour.
